#TBT to the shed where it all began… 💚
This shed is where Orton Englehart worked to develop the horizontal brass impact sprinkler in order to create a more efficient way to water his citrus orchard. Like many growers, Orton was a tinkerer who liked finding creative ways to solve his problems. Due to dry summers which often lacked rain, and sprinkler options which were insufficient to meet his needs, Orton began developing a better way to irrigate his citrus orchard. Eventually, after some trial and error, Orton produced the first horizontal action impact-drive sprinkler which was much more reliable and efficient. This was the model 60 and was patented in 1935. In 1990 the American Society of Agricultural Engineers deemed it a historic landmark of agricultural engineering. 👏 🏆
Orton`s shed currently houses Orton`s extensive collection of brass impact sprinklers as well as the iterations of the horizontal brass impact sprinkler which came prior to the patented version. 💚 🌱 💧

The #pantonecoloroftheyear for 2025 is … silty clay loam! 🌱 💚
When we saw the Pantone Color of the Year was Mocha Mousse, we knew we had to match it up with a soil type, and silty clay loam was a great match!
